Schedule 40 pertains to the wall thickness of the pipe. Schedule 40 indicates a medium wall thickness, providing a balance between strength and cost. Schedule 40 pipes are commonly used in applications where higher pressure resistance is required compared to thinner-walled pipes.


316L STAINLESS STEEL

Stainless 316L belongs to the austenitic stainless steel family which is known for its corrosion resistance and versatility and is often a preferred choice over carbon steel pipe in low pressure installation. However, 316L stainless steel contains additional elements which enhance its corrosion resistance, especially in chloride-rich environments. This makes 316L stainless steel particularly suitable for use in marine environments and chemical processing.
